Compass Tours Adds Revelstoke Mountain Resort!

Revelstoke Mountain Resort burst onto the winter vacation destination scene when it opened for its first season, winter 07/08! Now, there is even more to enjoy:

The Revelstoke area is already an established destination for adventure skiers and boarders who eshew the lifts in favour of other ways of getting into the alpine! There are three bowls of champagne power that welcome you to Revelstoke snow cat skiing! And Revelstoke helicopter skiing offers a veritable banquet with 200 established runs over 200,000 hectares!
Even though the Revelstoke Mountain Resort village base is still being developed and there’s a lot of construction yet to be done, the quality of the snow and the extent of the start-up amenities means that Revelstoke is already carving itself a niche in the consciousness of destination skiers and snowboarders!
At this time, most overnight accommodation is still to be found in the town of Revelstoke, which is 6km (about 3.5 miles) from the lift base area. There are several accommodation options there, making the self-drive vacation the most convenient at this time. From winter 08/09, though, there’ll be several phases of the Nelsen Lodge available right at the gondola base! These condo-style units will have all the amenities that the destination traveller might need, and there’ll soon be townhomes and private chalets to choose from, too!
Revelstoke will not be a “winter only” destination for long! Earlier this month, it was announced that the ever-popular Nick Faldo is currently designing the resort’s championship golf course! Situated adjacent to the Nelsen Lodge and village base area, the course will embrace the towering forests, alpine creeks and other natural features of the mountain. It will engage golfers in a tactical challenge while distracting them with spectacular views! The first crews will arrive to break ground in spring 2009, and the course will open for play in 2011.
